Quality-conscious consumers who make healthcare decisions for themselves and their loved ones respond to publications that present useful information in a lifestyle-magazine format. A survey by Roper Public Affairs found that consumers whose hospitals circulate custom publications express satisfaction to a greater degree than do consumers whose hospitals do not offer custom publications. The Roper study strongly suggests that people are highly receptive to custom publications.
- 49 percent of those who received hospital publications said they were very satisfied with the quality of care compared to 34 percent of those who didn't receive hospital publications.
- 56 percent of those who received hospital publications said they felt very much that the hospital keeps them informed of services compared to 30 percent of those who didn't receive publications.
- 50 percent of those who received hospital publications said they were very likely to recommend the hospital to others compared to 37 percent of those who didn't receive publications.
